If you are toying with the idea of buying a playhouse or treehouse for Christmas this year, here is an exceptional one the whole family would enjoy–and maybe even move into. I’m not sure it’s in the budget this year, but I am sure our Godson, Cole, would think we were pretty amazing if we put a big red bow around this in his backyard!

Germany’s treehouse makers, Baumraum, have created a brilliant arboreal home design. Impressive, with its curvy body perched atop super-skinny spider-like “legs”, the unique and modern shape with its clean lines and cool features are signature Baumraum.

It was conceived to show off housing company, WeberHaus’, homes, and resides in a fun interacting way at World of Living , their showspace/amusement park for sustainable housing. As if the treehouse itself were not cool enough, there is also a terrace and stairs spiraling the oak, suspended by a steel cable and heavy-duty webbing belts.

The vaulted interior deceives visitors with wallpaper depicting giant oak leaves as if the house itself were a tree. In fact, the walls are all made of native oak. Two skylights and large windows daylight the space and allow views in all directions over the park and into the tree crown.

The treehouse was built in the company’s apprentice workshop in collaboration with external partners. It was then put on a truck and carted to its destination.

John, Greg, and Tamara,
Happy Thanksgiving and may you all reflect on blessings to numerous to count today.
